"For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together. For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad. ~Edwin Way Teale
Hello, everyone!
Another week of Autumn has now passed us by. The temperatures are sporadic, and the leaves are all starting to change color. It is really starting to have the true feel of the season.

We've got 2 special days coming up, and several In-House specials to go along with them. Sweetest Day is October 15th, and Boss's Day follows on October 16th. Let them both know they are appreciated! Visit our webpage to see what we've got to offer.
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Show you're support this month by wearing all things pink! Purses, scarves, earrings, sweaters - women have an easy time accessorizing. But, what about the men? For those
that won't adorn pink, what can they do? Send pink flowers, of course! From daisies to roses, many flowers come in all different shades of pink. Send some pink to an important woman in your life!
For more information about breast cancer, and to get yourself informed, please visit the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month webpage. There is information on how you han help support the cause, resources for those affected, and disease information.

It's been busy in the greenhouses here lately. I've been running around soliciting pets, scratches and treats from whoever I can, and I've been noticing that Anita and Brian (our lead growers) have sure been working hard! I've decided I'll start giving them a little spot in my newsletter to let you all know what they're up to. So, without further ado, I'll hand it over to Brian...
From seed to flourishing plant, I have lots of herbs here in the growhouse. Fresh herbs are so much better to use in cooking, or, as a garnish than the old, processed stuff you buy at the store. Right now, there is plenty of parsley (flat leaf as well as curly leaf), oregano, dill, sage, thyme, rosemary, chives and basil. If you need fresh herbs, just come in and I can cut some for you. It doesn't get any fresher than that!
I'm also planting some vegetables. Some of you will remember last year, I had some tomatoes and brussel sprouts. This year, I'll have the same, as well as broccoli for the winter season. Stop in to see when they'll be ready.
I hear the crinkle of a brand new bag of kibble!
Until next time,
~Duke
